This poster from thevintageposter.com called Taittinger caught my attention because it is simple but makes a big statement. The eye is first drawn to the champagne glass in the foreground. The placement of Grace Kelly's curvy silhouette directly behind the see-through glass was a brilliant choice, as her curves contrast the straight lines of the glass to make her as much the focus of the poster as the glass. Also, drawing her in a black dress was a good choice, as the black adds contrast.
This poster advertising the movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo from allposters.com interested me because of its use of darkness and shadow. It creates a sense of mystery and foreboding.

I like the second poster as well, because it does add mystery through use of darkness. It makes you curious about what the movie is about.
I agree with all that's been said about the movie poster. It's dark and dangerous and a bit sexual, a few things that usually catch people's attention.
