This is a picture from The New York Times of a rally of President Obama supporters. I chose this picture because I think it has good use of the principles. The focal point is very clear in this photo. There are not a bunch of other things going on in the background to distract from the rally. The photo is also well balanced. It also has good use of movement and rythm. The eye can easily follow the crowd.
This is Oakland Raiders running back, Darren McFadden. This photo as the photo above, also has a clear focal point because the background images are not as sharp. The movement use is good as well because the eye goes toward him and where he is running. Perspective is a major part of this photo as well since he is running toward the camera.

There is a clear sense of movement in the McFadden photo. The focal point is his running form, and the blurry background images add to the effect of movement. Good balance as well. Him running at center with a person on either side of him.
I like the McFadden photo, by having the background be blurry, it really makes the viewer focus on what the photagrapher was aiming at!
The street lights in the first photo really balance it out. The contrast between cars on the left side and people on the right side is also cool. While the big banner is the focal point, the round paddles that they are carrying also captures attention.
