Nameplates/Masthead: Asheville CT & Dallas MN

First where I'm from, my hometown newspaper:

I like how the old-fashioned nameplate remains on the masthead in b&w with the original font, intermixed with more digital-aged graphics (rounded edges and colors for the Stars headline; dallasnews.com logo).

Then where I'd like to go, Asheville N.C.:

I like a lot of things about this masthead: the blue line under the nameplate, the ads at the top, and the simplicity of the serif typeface attracts me. It looks like a good mix of traditional & progressive styling.
