Nameplates/Mastheads
I chose this first example from http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/hr.asp?fpVname=CA_BC&ref_pge=gal&b_pge=1. I really like it because it stood out to me. The nameplate went all the way across and it caught my attention by having the headline photo right underneath it. The next example I got from http://www.myalcaponemuseum.com/id44.htm. Something about it to me really pops out with having the bold headline across the top with the masthead right above it. I like the layout of the front page as well.

The Bakersfield Californian masthead is really nice and clean. There is good use of spacing and it really makes a statement. I don't really like the spacing in between the Chicago Daily Tribune. I think they could be a little more close together.
